At Subvrsive, we're big fans of Roblox. We recognize that for brands, Roblox represents an emerging opportunity to create authentic connections and build communities, especially with younger audiences.

Roblox 101

What is Roblox?

Roblox is an online platform that lets users create their own games and explore an expansive library of 3D experiences built by fellow developers. Players can chat and game with other Roblox players, collect gear for their avatars, socialize with friends, and so much more.

Roblox is insanely popular and growing rapidly. With over 54 million people using Roblox every day, it's one of the most-played games on the market, and is quickly catching up with established social media platforms.

All that said, Roblox is far more than just fun and games. In fact, in 2021 the company generated over $1.9 billion in total revenue. Not surprisingly, brands like Nike, Gucci, and NASCAR have already entered the space, creating branded experiences that have generated loads of publicity and fan interest.

Brand Opportunities on Roblox

There is a range of opportunities available on Roblox enabling brands to implement a crawl-walk-run approach to the platform and iterate and adapt based on user behavior and feedback.

For instance, brands can establish a presence by creating virtual products and apparel that players can use within existing Roblox world. Then, they can create limited-time events that can replace in-person events. Finally, brands can move on to persistent, feature-rich experiences that evolve and change over time.

As the platform continues to grow in popularity, one thing is for certain: brands hoping to forge relationships with the next generation of consumers should not overlook the metaverse gaming space.
